Elsie Mason
For more than fifty years, Elsie Mason has been a friend and member of the First Baptist Church. Twenty-nine of those years were spent as a pastoral assistant until she retired in 1976. During her tenure of duties, Else could inevitable be found lending a helping hand to those in need. She continually provided transportation to parishioners and made visits to the sick or disabled. Her legacy is one of helping people who had the least and needed the most. In the same spirit of compassion and care for others, we have named our first facility after her.

Monsignor Luigi Ligutti
Ligutti Tower is named after Monsignor Luigi Ligutti, a Roman Catholic priest and former Iowan. Ligutti was born in Italy but came to Iowa in 1912. He Drew worldwide acclaim for the homestead program he started in Granger, Iowa. The Granger Homestead project of the 1930's made it possible for under-employed coal miners to buy a home and parcel of land. Ligutti was a caring, compassionate and committed servant to our Lord.
