Becoming a Christian is about having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that salvation is found by having faith in Jesus Christ.
Created by God
The scriptures tell us that God created the world and human beings to be stewards over God's creation. God created us because He wants us to be His children and to have a loving relationship with Him.
In the beginning of creation human beings broke their relationship and fellowship with God through disobedience and sin.
All have sinned
The Bible tells us in Romans 3:23 that "All have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God."
Sin destroys our life
The scripture tells us that the "wages of sin is death." (Romans 6:23) This means that sin separates us from our loving relationship with God. Sin harms us both here in this life and robs us of the eternal life that God wants for us.
God wants us to have a relationship with him and offers us eternal life
God loves us as His children and wants a relationship with us. He wants to offer us eternal life. "But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Chirst our Lord." (Romans 6:23b)
Jesus Christ, God's Son, came into the world to offer us salvation and eternal life
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
If you place your faith and trust in Jesus Christ and the salvation He offers than you will have life with Christ in this life and eternal life in heaven.
Romans 10:9,10 "...If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you shall be saved;
After you place your faith in Jesus Christ you have begun your life in Christ as a Christian. Beginning a personal relationship with Christ is only the beginning of being a Christian. As Christians we are to learn how to be more like our loving and gracious savior, Jesus Christ. Jesus wants us to worship and serve Him, to reach out to the world in love and service, and to seek to grow in the love and grace of Christ each day.
